Welcome to
The Zonta Club of
Watkins Glen — Montour Falls, NY
Zonta International is a worldwide service organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of girls and women, with more than 26,000 members in more than 1,100 clubs in 63 countries. The Zonta Club of Watkins Glen-Montour Falls, sponsored by the Zonta Club of Elmira, was chartered into Zonta International, District 2, Area 3, on May 1,1925, and today continues to advocate for women and girls locally and worldwide.
Club members meet on the 3rd Monday of each month during September through June, at Chef’s Diner in Montour Falls. Most meetings feature a guest speaker presentation. Our members are from a variety of professions and come together in focused fellowship to plan projects that benefit our community in the areas of safety, health and education of women, as well as to raise funds to support Zonta International projects.
The club participates in district and international award programs, including Young Women in Public Affairs, the Jean M. Coon Humanitarian Award, the Jane M. Klausman Woman in Business Award as well as a new scholarship, Women in Technology. In addition, the club bestows annual monetary awards funded by past member endowments, to assist local graduating high school senior girls. The club also funds community activities such as the Frances VanBilliard business award and the Belle Cornell medical award.
