Meetings & Programs (FAQ’s)

Where will meetings be held?

All club meetings, except one required annual face-to-face, will be held via video-conferencing. There is always an option for phoning in for members with no internet device (computer, pad, smart phone)

Some district and international meetings may be held via zoom video conferencing or in person.

When would meetings be held?

Club meetings are held as specified in the club bylaws. The membership will write and vote on the club by-laws.

• The business of the club is conducted by the club board and the club members, in board meetings and club meetings, respectively.

How can an e-Club fund raise, do service projects, and advocate for women?

Fundraising
– Online raffles and selling of merchandise with the Zonta – International or e-Club logos
– Partnering with like-minded organizations
– Grant writing
– On-line fundraising, offering webinars, coaching, etc.

Service projects
– Work with like-minded local organizations domestic violence shelters and community services
– Collect items for donation (feminine care items, clothing, interview outfits…)
– Use member expertise to develop “How To’s” for other Zonta clubs
– Support Zonta International Foundation and the global ZI programs

Advocacy

– Host community events (films, discussion groups, library reading lists…..)
– Create a mailing campaign to effect legislative changes
– Develop advocacy information to inform the public of issues and resources

How can the e-Club address the social aspect of being a member of a club?

  • Meet at District seminar, conference, and workshops. Plan a special social hour for members or perhaps a breakfast or an outing

  • Schedule a 30-minute on-line social hour before a club meeting

  • Hold a “Happy Hour” on-line gathering

  • Arrange a “Get to know the members” (Show us your talent, hobby… “What excites me….)

How can an e-Club join together on a project when they would be geographically separate?

  • Not every e-Club member needs to work on every project/program!

– Invite some of your friends and acquaintances to join the e-club with you. Develop projects or programs (with approval of the e-Club) your group could work on together.

– Enlist “friends of Zonta” to help with a project (Friends of Zonta are people who are not ready to join Zonta but are happy to help on projects/programs

  • Incorporate video conferencing into your projects. Planning meetings, marketing, and even holding the project on-line can be done.
  • Collaborate with nearby regular Zonta clubs and attend their open meetings
  • Help small regular clubs in the district– offer them mentoring, fundraising and support…

What should I know about Zonta International?

Can I attend District 2 Meetings and Events?

Absolutely. Every member of the club is invited and encouraged to attend any of the District 2 meetings and events. It’s a great place to meet fellow District 2 Zontians.

Can I attend the Zonta International Conventions?

Yes! I the club will need delegates and alternates to vote at the Convention—plan early to attend! Make new friends from around the world then meet up with them at future conventions.

Can I be a member of a traditional club and an e-club?

No, you can’t be a member of both a traditional club and an e-club.

Can I transfer my membership from another club?

Yes, you can transfer membership to another club at any time—another e-Club, a regular club, or even an individual membership (not affiliated with any club or district)
