The Canton Area Zonta Club Scholarships:

Zonta International (ZI) awards Amelia Earhart Fellowships. ZI and District II award the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship. ZI, District II and the Canton Club award the Young Women in Public Affairs Award. The Jean M. Coons Humanitarian Award is awarded at the District II and Canton Club level. Locally, the Canton Club awards three scholarships: the Canton Zonta Scholarship, the Millie Post Potsdam Scholarship, and the Canton College Scholarship.

Amelia Earhart Fellowship:
This fellowship established to honor Amelia Earhart, a Zonta member, is awarded to a student in aerospace related science or aerospace related engineering. At this time, Clarkson does not have any programs that meet the specific requirements nor do other universities in the Canton area.

Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship:
This scholarship is awarded to a 3rd or 4th year student enrolled in a business degree granting accredited program.

Young Women in Public Affairs Award:
This scholarship is awarded in memory of Teddy Molnar to a female Canton High School Senior who will enter a 4 year college to seek a career in policy making, government, or volunteer organization.

Jean M. Coons Humanitarian Award:
Awarded to a junior or senior high school student for outstanding community service.

The Canton Zonta Scholarship:
This scholarship, in memory of former Canton Zonta member Gwen Putman and Potsdam Club members Mae LaBrake and Katherine Schwarkoff, is awarded to a high school senior with a distinguished academic record.

Millie Post Potsdam Scholarship:
This award was initally a Potsdam Club scholarship in honor of Millie Post, a long time Potsdam Zonta member. It was transferred to the Canton Club when the clubs merged. It is awarded to a graduating high school senior who demonstrates good leadership skills and dedication to service.

Canton College Scholarship:
This endowed scholarship is given in memory of Mrs. Sibley and Penny Pitts to two recipients who are single parents returning to school to complete a degree at SUNY Canton.

The Canton Area Zonta Club Awards

Zontian of the Year Award:
This Award is given annually to a member of the Canton Area Zonta Club who has exhibited extreme conscientiousness in providing services worthy of recognition to the club and/or its members throughout the previous year. This recipient has consistently gone beyond what is considered normal when completing tasks associated with membership in the Zonta Club.
